India E-Municipalica Week: Virtual Exhibition & Conferences, 28th - 31st Jan, 2021

Urbanisation in India is taking place at a faster pace than ever before. It is estimated that every minute, some 30 people are migrating to Indian cities from rural areas; if the trend continues, the country’s urban population is likely to reach 600 million by 2030. Cities are growth hubs for India, and the country’s transformation depends directly on their governance and sustainable urbanisation.

Issues like pollution, congestion, water scarcity, slums, traffic, overcrowding, public transport, and waste have made many of India’s megacities unliveable. To provide better living conditions for existing and future generations, cities need to be improved by adopting the smart route and at the same time focusing on the sustainability aspect.

Cities now face the dual challenge of keeping people safe and achieving a swift economic recovery. This can only be achieved by investing in technology to give businesses, public services, and local people the connectivity they need to thrive.

Today, the ASSOCHAM has emerged as the fountainhead of Knowledge for Indian industry, which is all set to redefine the dynamics of growth and development in the urban infrastructure and development.

With this background, the ASSOCHAM is organising INDIA e-MUNICIPALICA WEEK, 28th-31th January 2021 a virtual exhibition and conference on future cities and the role of municipal corporations. The event is going to be a highly interactive conference and expo, targeting 25 plus exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge technologies, real-time solutions and proven strategies that India needs to build more liveable, workable, sustainable cities.

The event will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri ji.

The event is expected to witness wide participation from Governments, Municipalities, urban planners, developers, urban futurists, solution providers and innovators to converge and discuss practical deployment of cutting-edge technologies in shaping sustainable, competitive, and resilient cities and municipal corporations.

The event synergies well with the flagship programmes launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Smart Cities Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a housing for all scheme – to ensure “better living and drive economic growth”.
